What if you decided to pick up the phone when he called you? If you decided against acting out the revenge that had consumed your thoughts for years? This is an alternate ending to the main story, one where the MC decided to forget her dark past and focus on being happy with Issei. They find out the other’s true identity when they bump into each other visiting the MC’s mother’s grave. They reconcile, and decide to focus on living a life without regrets and their relationship instead.
This route didn’t do much for me. I probably would have liked it more if I had played this route before his main story. I couldn’t help but compare it to the main story and think that something was missing. I find it hard to believe that after years of living for revenge it would go away just because the MC fell in love. This route was just filled with the basic, generic stuff that you would find in fanfictions (I mean no disrespect to fanfic writers when I say this. I have read a few fanfics that made me wonder how the writer wasn’t working for Voltage already).
It might sound a bit pessimistic, but the route was too happy for me. There was none of the angst that the MC and Issei experienced in the main story that showed how they both truly loved and forgave each other. The Director even points out that their feelings might have been out of pity for each other, and that they might blame each other later on in life; as much as I don’t like the guy, he’s right. The events in the main story brought them much more close to each other compared to the another story (in my own opinion, of course).
There’s no walkthrough for this route because it only has one ending. If you didn’t like Issei’s main route and wanted a happier ending, I recommend you play this route. If you haven’t played Issei’s main route yet but are planning to, I highly recommend that you play this route before the main route. This review ended up being a lot longer than I had planned it to be, but I had a lot to complain say about it. Happy playing!
