[REVIEW] My Wedding and 7 Rings: Hiroto Chitose season 1 Main Story

MWA7R Hiroto Chitose S1 main story

After choosing the flirtatious Hiroto to be her partner for the month, the MC is surprised to find out that he’s more of a gentleman than the pushy playboy reputation he exudes while at the company. Though she’s wary of him at first, she finds herself falling for his kindness and the consideration he shows her, but soon notices that his smiles don’t always reach his eyes when he’s with her. She slowly discovers that his past his darker than he lets on, and wonders how she can get him to smile from his heart.

Hiroto has been unashamedly flirtatious and a bit pushy in the MWA7R routes released so far, and quite honestly I was expecting him to stay the same for his own; however, he’s the exact opposite. While he does occasionally drag the MC along to his own pace, he’s the perfect gentleman from the start of the story. Hiroto is extremely perceptive and notices almost immediately if the MC is uncomfortable with something and tries his best to accommodate her. He shows kindness and consideration not only to the MC, but also to his coworkers and subordinates; his easygoing personality and disarming words eases tension when it comes to people hard to work with, giving him an extremely good reputation within Sanno.

The beginning of the story is fast paced; the MC starts to show interest in Hiroto from the beginning (though she’s also extremely wary of him), and it’s strongly hinted early on that there’s something in Hiroto’s past that still haunts him. However, after the first couple of chapters, the pace slows down. I think I enjoyed the writing in this route the most compared to the other releases in MWA7R. Voltage didn’t try to put too many subplots or conflicts in the story, so there was a lot of focus on developing the relationship between Hiroto and the MC. I think their relationship grew at a good pace, and while the conflicts did seem a bit cliché, they were delivered in a way that engaged me throughout the story and kept me interested.

I especially liked the MC in this story. Hiroto tends to hide his feelings behind a smile, and the MC goes from noticing about it to worry about it and eventually calls him out for it. Her desire to make sure that Hiroto smiles from the bottom of heart was conveyed extremely well, and quite honestly, I think Hiroto deserved it. Unlike characters in Voltage’s favorite tropes (the oresama and tsundere), Hiroto is an extremely kind person and I found myself cheering the MC on as she struggled with how to make him happy.

On a side note, I also like how Hayami’s friendship with Hiroto showed a more human side to him in this story. While his business attitude is nothing but calculations and results, Hayami showed a genuine interest in Hiroto’s well being, and honestly wanted him and the MC to be happy together. It definitely made me more excited for his route, and I can’t wait for it to be released now >w<

I definitely recommend this route, especially if you haven’t been impressed with the releases for MWA7R so far. While his playboy mannerisms may put off some people, that side of his personality doesn’t pop up a lot throughout the story and his genuine concern for the MC will definitely win a lot of hearts over. Please give him a try! He’ll smooth talk himself into your good side XD Once again, happy playing! >w<
