Living together with Baba has been nothing but one sweet moment after the other, and the MC finds herself living everyday in bliss. However, things go awry when Baba starts to lose his planned thefts to the “Billionaire Bandit” and escalate even more when he’s accused for murder at the scene of one of the infamous Bandit’s hoists. The MC can’t help but feel that there’s a hidden side of Baba that she doesn’t know of, and desperately tries to help him when he tells her he wants to break things off with her.
I always love Baba’s routes because he’s such a sweetheart to the MC and treats her like a princess. The start of the route was definitely sweet and had me fangirling over how Baba would be a perfect househusband XD
While Baba is a sweetheart and always ready to lend a hand to people who need it, he has a hard time asking for help from others. This plays a large part in this route; he doesn’t like showing weakness or reliance, and the MC is troubled because she knows that he’s not always the suave person he makes himself out to be. I personally liked how the MC didn’t give up on trying to help Baba, even if he tells her to not get involved. She determined to do something for him, and she doesn’t give up, even when it looks like the other auction managers didn’t care about Baba’s situation.
Baba’s routes usually do a good job in terms of writing and pacing, but I felt that this story fell short of the caliber I’ve come to expect. While there was a lot of action going on in this route, the chapters felt shorter than usual in the beginning and it felt like everything was extremely rushed. Nothing was fully developed, whether it was conflicts that were suddenly resolved or sudden changes in the story that felt like they came out of nowhere. Personally, I found the plot to be really predictable and overly dramatic; this might not be the case with other people though.
Another thing I didn’t understand was why Baba had to retell his past to the MC. I’m not sure if I’m completely accurate, but I’m pretty sure that he already did so in his Living Together story (please do correct me if I’m wrong). The scene in itself wasn’t done well either; it felt very passive and I think Voltage could’ve written it better.
I was looking forward to play this route, but was disappointed. If you absolutely need to know the full story, keep in mind that the pacing is extremely rushed from the beginning to end of the route. Season 3 routes are starting to get released in the JP version of KBTBB, and I can’t wait to see the CGs for Baba soon; Soryu’s were absolutely adorable (and hot *cough*) and I’m waiting in anticipation for the rest of the bidders. Happy playing!
